WERS hardship fund provides regular financial and wraparound support to asylum seekers who have received a negative decision on their asylum claim. Current Government policy cuts off financial support and access to accommodation when a negative decision is issued.

The fund exists through donations from individuals, local community and faith groups and is part of our Life on Hold project, a partnership with North East Refugee Service and the British Red Cross that tackles the effects of long and short-term destitution in Newcastle.

To find out more about destitution visit our Facts about Refugees page.

If you are an asylum seeker and need to access the hardship fund, please visit our Information for Asylum Seekers and Refugees page.
