WERS Festive Week and Christmas opening times

This week is Festive Week at WERS when we give out bags of gifts to all the destitute asylum seekers we are supporting, along with their weekly hardship payments. We currently have 120 men and women in this unenviable situation. Once again we have been overwhelmed by the wonderful kindness and generosity of so many people who have brought gifts of toiletries, hats, scarves, gloves and chocolate. The Mothers Union in Newcastle Diocese filled an amazing array of shoes boxes with gifts, and donations of money to the Hardship Fund have enabled us to give all the destitute clients an additional week’s support over Christmas and the New Year.

We will be closed from Wednesday 23rd December, re-opening on Monday 4th January.

Season’s Greetings on behalf of everyone at WERS!
