Our volunteer Dr. Kye Askins has written a Research Report on our Befriending Scheme, titled “Being Together: Evaluating the West End Refugee Service Befriending Scheme”.
We are very grateful for Dr. Askins’ efforts, the Report really demonstrates the long term benefits of our Befriending Scheme in the lives of Befrienders and Befriendees. Have a look at the Report here. The Report can also be found in our Resources section.
Our Support Worker Ali visited Cramlington Learning Village on Wednesday, 18th of June and gave a talk to Sixth Form students about asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. The students enjoyed the talk and many felt that they were more willing to promote positive messages about asylum seekers and refugees. It is really wonderful to see young people engaging with this topic and we look forward to delivering more talks in schools in the future.
